Doser waterfall
The Doser waterfall is one of the most mystical places in the Lechtal. In the hamlet of Luxnach near Häselgehr, the Doser waterfall rolls out of a rock grotto into the depths.
Nothing unusual in itself, if the water of the Doser stream did not dry up every year on St. Martin's Day (November 11) as if by magic and spring up again on St. George's Day (April 23). There are many possible explanations. The most plausible one speaks of an underground lake that overflows when the snow melts in spring and thus feeds the above-ground stream bed.
The Doser waterfall is a natural adventure trail and due to the unique nature it acts like a mystical energy place. Two wonderful circular tours invite you to explore.
Doser waterfall circuit
The Doserwasserfall Rundweg is a leisurely circular trail past the waterfall and along many streams such as the Weiße Bachle, which invite children to play. At the alpine meadow near Brandle the trail turns down towards Luxnach and then back to the starting point.
Doserkopf chapel circular route
The Doserkopfkapelle circular trail is a gently laid out hiking trail along the waterfall. Specially designed lookout points give a wonderful view of the roaring stream and the source of the Doser stream. At the highest point of the trail there is a chapel and a rest area - the ideal place to enjoy the view of Häselgehr. Descend through a wildly romantic forest path, past the Weißen Bachle and then towards Luxnach. From Luxnach you return to the starting point.
