Lechtaler Almabtriebe
Colorful parades, culinary delights and festivities in the marquee: The Lechtal Almabtriebe literally herald the colorful season, the autumn. Of course, the return of the cattle from the Lechtal alpine pastures without any damage is celebrated.
From mid-September, the decorated animals return from their alpine pastures as part of the Lechtaler Bergherbst, including in the Lechtal villages of Steeg, Holzgau, Bach, Elbigenalp and Stanzach where visitors to the ceremony are already joyfully awaiting the cows along with young cattle. The Steeg Almabtrieb is considered the largest of its kind in the Tyrolean Außerfern. Accompanied by live music, regional delicacies and a farmers' market, the celebration continues until late afternoon. Finally, in the evening, shepherds and herdsmen march in with the sound of bells - a particularly beautiful cow bell is raffled off among the guests.
Short-term changes due to weather conditions are reserved.
