Elmen

Nestled between Rotwand, Klimmspitze and Mutekopf lies at 978 m the small community of Elmen. With its settlements Martinau and Klimm, the village forms the entrance to the rustic Bschlabertal at the foot of the Hahntennjochstraße.

Due to the slight slope, the cozy nature park community is completely on the sunny side of the Lech Valley in summer and winter. There is also no question of road noise here. Away from the Lechtal main road, the well-kept community radiates an atmosphere of tranquility and coziness.

Elmen is an ideal starting point for numerous hikes and mountain tours, particularly noteworthy is the Almwirtschaft Stablalm at 1,412 m altitude, which is a popular meeting place for guests but also locals.

Conviviality and hospitality are written in capital letters in Elmen. The Elmen music band promises cheerful hours at its convivial guest concerts and two cozy inns invite you to stop in and take a relaxing break. The small village store in the center of the village provides you with everything you need and is supplied daily with fresh bread.

The Lechradweg and the Lechweg lead directly past Elmen. So you also have the opportunity to visit the small community for a stop.

Nature park house

A special landmark is the Nature Park House on the Klimm Bridge, high above the Lech River. The architecturally striking house is the administrative headquarters of the Tyrolean Lech Nature Park and, in addition to an interactive exhibition, also offers regular guided wild river hikes with knowledgeable nature park rangers.

Europe's largest wild growing lady's slipper area

Flower and nature lovers can expect a very special natural spectacle in the Lechau near Martinau. This is because Central Europe's largest lady's slipper area is located there. The rare orchid species is under strict protection and blooms annually between mid-May and mid-June.

When it's winter in Elmen, you also have plenty of opportunities to make your stay as varied as possible. Be it on the extensive and sunny cross-country ski trails or at the family ski lift in the nearby neighboring community of Stanzach. The Almwirtschaft Stablalm is also one of 9 open winter magic huts that invites you to a cozy stop in the warm parlor. An ice rink for curling and ice skating is also available.
