Suspension bridge

Holzgau is located at the entrance to the wildly romantic Höhenbach Valley Gorge with the famous Simmswasserfall and the spectacular suspension bridge, which at its inauguration with 200 meters, was considered the longest and highest suspension bridge in Austria.

The Holzgau suspension bridge is a structural highlight that connects the Simmswasserfall with the adventure via ferrata of the same name as well as the Lechweg and the sunny Gföllberg with the Schiggenberg.

Another hiking highlight is the newly created and recently opened Vitalweg Holzgau. This adventure trail is based on the five elements of Sebastian Kneipp's teachings - water, exercise, nutrition, herbs and balance. With twelve stations and information boards, there are several ways to experience Kneipp's health teachings up close in the Lech Valley.

History, tradition, ancient knowledge, paired with a precious natural landscape as well as pristine alpine flora and fauna, make a hike along the Vitality Trail an unforgettable experience and, above all, a journey to yourself.

In addition to the numerous events, a variety of sports and games facilities await you, as well as a small local history museum, which ensures a varied stay.

In winter, Holzgau offers its own ski lift with ski school as well as ideal access to the extensive Lechtal cross-country skiing network. Demanding skiers also appreciate the proximity to the first-class ski area on the Arlberg.

In addition, Holzgau has an extensive infrastructure. A doctor, two grocery stores, as well as three sports stores, a small nursery and even a ceramics workshop are at your disposal. In addition, several restaurants and cafes invite you to a cozy stop.
