Vorderhornbach

Vorderhornbach is located at the entrance of the Hornbach valley, at the foot of the Grubachspitze at an altitude of 974 m above sea level. The community was first mentioned in a document in 1218 and is considered a special insider tip for those seeking peace and seclusion.

The Hornbachtal offers ambitious hikers and mountaineers, but also families and all those who prefer to take it easy, a variety of vacation activities in nature.

On your Lechweg stage to Stanzach you will also pass by Vorderhornbach and the Lechradweg also leads directly past the community along the Lech. The recreational value of the municipality of Vorderhornbach is particularly high. This is mainly due to the tranquility, untouched nature, lonely paths and spacious meadows.

Lookout Baichlstein

A very special destination for hikers in summer as well as in winter is the 1,150 m high mountain and vantage point with the name "Baichlstein". From Vorderhornbach you can hike the popular "local mountain" of the community in a short time comfortably. Once at the top, a uniquely beautiful view of the famous Lechzopf awaits you.

A special highlight is the land art work "Porta Alpinae" by the artist Guenter Rauch, which is located at the highest point of the lookout mountain. This art installation opens up your view of the meandering wild river Lech and represents the transition into the mystical world of the mountains.
