Ski touring in the Lech Valley
Untouched snowy landscapes, densely snow-covered forests, lonely peaks. With wide, untouched slopes and snow-covered forests, the Tyrolean Lechtal between the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps is considered a paradise for ski tourers far away from classic ski tourism.
Beyond lifts, roads and paths you leave your trail through untouched snow. Your tour takes you deep into the forests and up to the panoramic peaks of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps. The mountain is yours alone!
It is precisely these moments of absolute mountain solitude that make ski touring in the Tyrolean Lechtal a unique experience in this overwhelming natural landscape. A total of 116 routes over an area of 42 square kilometers are available to ski tourers. Among them are classic routes for beginners, experienced and professionals as well as insider tips for an unforgettable mountain experience.
On a ski tour, the main thing is to deal with the multifaceted safety aspects, snow and weather conditions. The correct preparation and planning of a ski tour is essential. But the enjoyment of the movement in the deep-winter landscape and the joy of an upcoming descent through untouched deep snow are highlights that will remain in your memory for a long time.
Ski mountaineering has a long tradition in the Tyrolean Alps and exerts a fascination on many winter sports enthusiasts. Hardly any other region in the alpine area embodies a more valuable nature experience than the Tyrolean Lechtal. Little Canada is so close.
For beginners, but also for all those who want to improve their condition or are looking for a sporty balance, we recommend the evening piste ski tour at the Jöchelspitzbahn in Bach. Once a week, touring skiers can use the safe slope to ascend the Sonnalm Jöchelspitze after skiing has ended. Once at the top of the mountain station, the Sonnalm invites you to a cozy evening of ski touring.
Safe and prepared ski touring
A ski tour only becomes a real experience when you don't have to worry about anything. If you start a ski tour with an uneasy feeling, this experience will never remain in good memory. That's why we offer you different courses and workshops in the Lechtal, so that your tour and your mountain become a real highlight.
A ski tour in the free ski area requires not only skiing skills, but also the awareness of comprehensive equipment, such as helmet, avalanche transceiver (LVS), probe, shovel and an avalanche backpack. In addition, our experienced Lechtal guides teach you snow how in SAAC courses (Snow and Avalanche Awareness Camps).
